we have a lovely, fantastic woman come to our house on the days that i work. she is so full of life i can't possibly put it into words. she loves my girls with all her heart, and she makes it so easy for me to go to work.
as she puts it, "i am not a babysitter, i am a nanny", and she says it with sincerity and takes this job very seriously.
sofia's beach scenes
she is smart, educated, politically saavy, a trained ballerina (i've got her addicted to SYTYCD), she's got sofia involved in the mayor's summer reading program (currently reading beatrix potter and has sofia spoiled with her dramatic and patient reading style), she makes sofia use her manners, emphasizes the importance of respecting adults and eating a healthy diet. i could go on....
cindy's "dress in castle closet"
we are so blessed to have her in our life! and i am so lucky to call her my friend!

lucky YOU. i had henry in home care until he was 3 and charlie's there now and rapidly approaching the time where he wears out his welcome and has to go to day care. (holly only likes to keep them until they're about 3.) so i know how wonderful it is to have a loving home environment for your kiddos. i don't worry about charlie at all, outside what damage he might do to holly's home on any given day. how fab not to have to pick up and drop off though!
That's a really nice tribute! I nannied for 3 families (college at night for years) and love the nanny love.
that's awesome....great tribute, special people. glad she's there for you.
i am so glad you have cindy...and really wish i knew her AND her pitbull. :)
This is very sweet. I love to see Sofia's reaction when she sees Cindy. Sofia just lights up- you can tell she really loves her.
Will you send her to Houston? She sounds like one in a million. What a wonderful feeling to know your girls are not only safe but better for having been in her care!
My dear friend, I am the lucky one. More than luck, our meeting was providential and time spent with your angels is divine. Sofia and Stella melt my heart and blow my mind! Gustavo is that one in a million men. Cinco has endeared his little self into my animal loving heart. And Denise, you are an awesome parent and the dearest friend. I am blowing a thousand kisses through the 'hood - on the advice of Sofia, "Don't let them melt in your pocket. Sprinkle some fairy dust on them, put them in a baggy (before you put them in the refrigerator,) and don't let anyone see 'cause my whole heart is in them." Thank you, Sofia and Stella. Each time we meet, I learn so much from you. My heart grows bigger and my love ever stronger.
