just tryin' to replace some lyrics, thought emily might appreciate....
my sweet perfect stella is long gone. i'm so sad! she came back from lb and papa's house a different baby. maybe it was because she spent many days at nanny's house being rocked, held, fed, rocked, rocked, rocked. maybe it is because mother drugged her with tylenol and those tooth soothing pills (she still has no teeth though....makes me ask, was she REALLY teething??). maybe it is because papa let her play non stop with his cell phone, then tried to get it away from her, (SCREAM!!!), so would just give it right back to her.
yesterday she got a hold of my cell phone (okay okay, i was desperate so i gave it to her), and she slipped it in the back side of her diaper, poopy diaper that is.
she naps once per day if we're lucky, she would probably nap all day if i rocked her but REALLY??
she SCREAMS BLOODY MURDER in her crib, i mean SCREAMS, screams like i have never heard before. until finally sheer exhaustion sets in....i'll give her a break, she is generally very happy when eating.
still, i have to say, those 8 days without the girls was very much appreciated and so far still worth it. if we are dealing with this next week, i might change my mind. i thought 48 hours or something could break a bad baby habit????

dude! i don't even know what to say or where to begin with this! awful! i hope she comes out of it...mostly for your sake!
My only editorial is that she went from being the perfect baby to not so perfect. I settle on her sleeping through the night though, wouldn't you agree?
grandparents are great for spoiling them, aren't they? i think it's the constant entertainment and attention they get when they're there. they're the stars of the show and on display and they come back rotten! my parents are notorious for this.
i can't believe she put your phone in her dirty diaper! if it wasn't so awful, it would be funny. maybe someday it'll be funny...but unlikely anytime soon.
Since she doesn't have teeth yet, I'd wager a bet that it's teething. Tristan doesn't sleep well during really bad bouts of teething. Poor girl and poor you and poor everyone, really. The stress of it filters down into every part of your day and mood. Hang in there you guys!
wow, dude - total bummer.. I hope she settles back into her routine soon for you guys. I know teething is a huge bugger and coupled with a recent "baby spa" visit to the grandparents (it's there job!) can make it doubly challenging.
I ran to the basement the other day to practice singing "turn the beat around" for the american idol wii happening in VT (you know, it's all about preparation). When i stopped, all out of breath and ecstatic with disco beat, i quickly noticed there was a chorus of WAILING outside the basement windows. Like the sound of babies screaming crying. I'm not going to lie - the hair on my neck stood up. I went to the window and there, in unison, reaching for the moon were three cats, meowing, if you want to call it that...they heard me "singing" and were attracted to it and decided to join in. THAT's how good my singing is, d. THAT good. Like a cat's. Like a crying baby.
So next time Stella starts to wail, i hope you can step back and somehow bring to the room the beat and song by Vicki Sue Robinson, and think of me in a basement, in Boston, - yep, with a disco ball overhead - singing in a way that only neighborhood cats are attracted to. i hope it makes you smile.
Turn the beat around....love to hear percussion.
With the rat, tat, tat, tat, tat, tat on the drums, hey
: )
wow. maybe you should be drunk more at 2am, is that why you were up?
i do hate when thing 1&2 come back from lubbock. . . or as we refer to it, the outback. you know, "no rules, just right".
yeah, the deprogramming sucks!
big d wilson...the outback?!?!?! HILARIOUS...one of the funniest things i've ever read. thanks for the laugh.
rita! i would love to duet with you. if you prefer another song choice, let me know. i don't have a basement to practice in, but i do have play house. should work. wonder what kind of reaction all the stray cats in our neighborhood will have???
yes the outback is classic! especially the "no rules, just right" part! the higgins family and i can relate on a very intimate level. dare i say more than big d wilsons....we're talking lamesa!!
Poor little Stella (and poor little Denise)! I agree about the grandparent spoiling thing. My mother has such a different set of rules for J&B than she had for me- her favorite thing to say is "Don't get on to him..." I always remember the Bill Cosby skit when he said, "I keep telling my kids this is not the woman I grew up with!"
