we had our tickets for months. timing ended up not being the best. first, i was EXHAUSTED from the party. second, our babysitter cancelled last minute. but money was invested, so i had to find a way to get there. i mustered up the energy and secured a new babysitter.
gustavo and i tried a new restaurant, soley - mexican french (odd but the owners are mexican and met and married in culinary school in lyon, france....so not as odd anymore). gustavo rated it "the best steak i've ever had". i needed more energy, so i ordered coffee and churros after dinner....a french press arrived. awesome, my favorite!
off to the show, and we're running late....so we choose valet parking to save some time ($15...argh but front door service...yeah!). chaos, tons of people, and i'm tired. we find our seats and 1 second later the show starts (i'm early to anything and everything, especially shows where i usually have time to read my playbill cover to cover...2 times! this was nice though, sit down and the show starts...i'll read my playbill at intermission, if i'm not asleep!!!).
(i feel like there should be an incident right now, like i've been building this story all to say something bad has happened. no incidents!)
from the first beat, i loved it! this should come as no surprise to me. after all i love the music of the 60s, i know all songs by the four seasons and all songs by frankie valli. i'm not tired anymore! and i was not prepared to love this show as much as i did!!!!

have thought about seeing this and never feel like it would be my style. what is my style? not sure... great recommendation - i'll have to give it a try someday.
We bought ticket for this show for my Dad and step-mother to see on Broadway (my Dad hates NYC). They loved it! In fact, they loved it so much, we received a hand written letter, front and back, from my step-mother gushing and thanking and gushing and thanking. Like B, I always thought it wouldn't be my taste. I confess, not much on Broadway ever is. Saw Mama Mia when it came out and while I thought it was "fun", I didn't get all the hub-bub. Anyway, so glad you guys had a good time...and that Gustavo had the best steak ever.
next time you see a play, let me know and we can go and gustavo can get out of it. i love to go to plays and david does not. so...let me know. we're still on for the nutcracker, right?
glad to hear you were able to get to the show and that it was all you hoped it would be.
