camp lb (and papa)

july 21-28 - 3rd annual camp lb (and papa) for ages 3 and up

oh what a difference one child makes! especially when it is easy breezy stella! i strategically planned the party last week knowing sofia would be at camp. gustavo and i had a fond old time with stella, realizing at week's end that "wow....stella really does exist in sofia's world!!" so it was nice to get to know her, if you will (that sounds terrible but is truthful!).

mother sent a list home with sofia of activities they did. i went through the list and received these responses from sofia:

pinata
"oh i hit that boot hard!"

rodeo
"my turtle didn't win the race."
chickens
"princess is 18 now."

parade
"i caught a ton of candy!"

play dough
"lb always has play dough."

church
"i sat in the balcony."

nanny as the queen
"oh she's the ex-queen."

swimming
"i don't want to play anymore."
hotel
"i said i don't want to do this anymore."

got it. other items on the list included:
painting
horses
hay

It is SO wonderful that she can do this with her cousins. Growing up, I would be sent home from where ever I was living at the time to spend an entire summer with my Grandparents and it was always so much fun. I'll never forget carefully crafting our own garb and drums to go outside and do a rain dance with my Grandmother...and it rained! These are going to be great memories for Sophia...and, as one who has children close in age to your two, I also appreciate how nice it must be to get Stella alone a bit.

My parents and in-laws are not the "camp" type. You're really lucky to have this.

it is amazing how the whole dynamic of the household changes when one of the kids isn't there. it's more than twice as easy with just one. i feel the same way about charlie as you do about stella because henry's personality is so LARGE (as is sofia's, clearly).

you are really lucky to have a place they can stay for a week at a time. my pils would NEVER EVER EVER do it and my folks both still work. lucky YOU.
