yes we did! i thought we were going to be finished after 2 laps, but sofia insisted to practice and actually got the hold of it after about 30 minutes. the dynamic at the rink is an interesting one, and i think it is consistent across the board. i loved the skating rink growing up and had many a birthday party there. on a family ski vacation in new mexico with several family friends, our parents dropped all of the kids (at least 6, maybe more - betsy?) off at a rink in new mexico, a fight broke out amongst us, and we got kicked out. the kicker is that our parents drove by the rink and noticed we were all standing outside and kept driving.....(dad - confess it!!)
anyway, we all had fun....even stella.
and no, i did not attempt any of the games (limbo, races, etc.). maybe that will be on the list for next year.....(i better start stretching now!)

how could i forget that awful fight. i think i might have been scared that suzan was going to kill danner!!
remember when me, you, betsy, terrye, and LB all went skating in lamesa and terrye broke her wrist. she was trying to show off and skate backwards like you!!

OH! remember the OLD skating rink in lamesa. that metal building! AWFUL
dude, i LOVED the skating rink. last time i went was with cecil and the girls in college and it was still fun. remember all skate ladies choice, reverse direction? hokey pokey? good times...sofia looks like a PRO.

did you guys think it was roller derby when the fight broke out?
I love that you guys did this with your girls! It's fun to share a bit of your childhood and rediscover it through you childrens eyes.
Yeah, that brings back memories for me too! I totally wanted to be Olivia Newton John in Xanadu (God what an awfull movie).
looks like fun was had by all. i however stink at roller skating, i'm the one everyone is laughing at, pulling myself around the outide edge of the rink where the railing is, and my husband is the one racing by me skating forward and somehow in mid stream is all of a sudden skating backwards..... how does he do that??????
oh, and NO i can't ice skate either. in case you were wondering.
i love roller skating and am with lou that i am a little jealous of the time you guys had!!! what fun!
that scene in NM is one for the books. each time i think of i am transported there immediately. if i think really hard i can probably remember what we were all wearing.
and, yes, lindsey is right. the skating rink in lamesa bears mention. the one that stunk of manure because it was right by a farm. yikes.
We thought all of you were just taking a breather, so we thought we would you have a couple of hours more fun. Just being thoughtful parents.
I admit it...I was part of the team of street bandits that infamous day in Ruidoso. And it felt good to kick Danner's rear end...REALLY good! ha! Miss you guys!

I don't blog...I'm scared to blog...it frightens me like rafting on a river in the middle of Arkansas...(insert dueling banjos here). I just enjoy reading other's blogs. I'm really not that exciting.
