thanks jennifer for the fabulous invitationswe had a weekend of celebration in lamesa, and it was fabulous! nanny had a wonderful party at lamesa's dal paso museum and celebrated with about 120 friends and family that came in from all over the state. we met family that we have never met before and also saw family that we haven't seen in years.....well decades really!
being 90 is beautiful. nanny still drives 3 hours to visit her 97 year old sister. aunt ruby still plants and harvests an amazing vegetable garden every year. it is so impressive! she also mows her huge lawn on her riding lawn mower!
nanny mentioned that people wouldn't feel as old if a number wasn't put to an age. she said she feels like she's in her 70s.

i really have to hand it to LB in the area of kid entertainment:
she hired a magician for the birthday party and that kept the kids VERY awed for 3 solid hours!

- she rented this monster of a bounce house (fully equipped with slides, boxing bags, an obstacle course, and a basketball goal)

other activities over the weekend included:
a pinata (to celebrate molly's 3rd birthday, 4 months late)

- a pillow fight
- big kids (i am part of that group) went to see 21 at the lamesa movie theatre (one of only 2 theatres in the country that is operated by volunteers) - betsy worked here before it was volunteer-operated :-)
- a visit to TA's house where we fed miniature horses & longhorns and played on farm tractors

the longhorns are coming! (they really were!)
this video will only truly be appreciated by those of you from the great town of lamesa!

i am so impressed with nanny and even told my mom so over the weekend. her comment was "she's really with it!" it's so cool to have a grandmother see your children...i envy that but am so glad you have it!
on another note...LB is OUT OF CONTROL. that jumpy thing was bigger than my house!
You hit the genetic jackpot! She doesn't look a day over 70. Hope that good health carries it's powers through your and your daughters lives.
LOVE the picture of Sophia that is focused in on just her through some trees. Gorgeous!
jessica - funny you would mention that photo of sofia. gustavo took it and does not like many of his pics but LOVES that particular one! i'll tell him it got kudos!
