food tailspin

....that's how i was eating. through the holidays and into the new year. i needed a way out of the tailspin and had been thinking about a cleanse even prior to the holidays. at first i was going to attempt a 21 day cleanse and quickly determined that was a recipe for failure. i sought out a friend to do a 7 day cleanse with me, for accountability, which ended up making all the difference.

we followed the 7 day detox miracle:
day 1-2: lemon water and herb tea
day 3-7: protein shakes, fruit, vegetables, wild rice, brown rice, miso soup....in a nut shell.

what was hard:
day 1-2 was BRUTAL! not having coffee was equally BRUTAL!

what i learned:
my days were revolving around eating.

the result:
i feel good. i have more energy. i'm drinking herb tea instead of snacking.

time to retox but hopefully i'll be wise about it!

I just read an article today in US Weekly about cleanses. The article was saying they are not safe! Be careful!

I totally admire your will power. Like you said, when I diet I find myself only thinking about food and eventually begin granted myself "gifts of food" for all my hard work. Tailspins usually get worse for me with a diet. However, if it's a regiment you can keep up with, which it looks like you have, it's a great way to reboot your food choice thinking. Good job!
